Kia India is all set to launch the Syros compact SUV in the Indian market, which will be positioned above the Sonet in the brand’s line-up. Ahead of the launch, the Korean carmaker has partially revealed the exterior design of the sub-4-meter SUV. Let’s look at the design details of the Kia Syros.
Kia Syros Design Revealed: Front Fascia
Upfront, the teaser highlights the new tri-beam LED headlamp with integrated DRLs and a black bumper paired with a silver skid plate. The headlamps give the SUV a premium appeal, however, the black bumper speaks of cost saving. The grille is yet to be revealed and we expect it to be a bit different from the current lot of Kia SUVs.

Kia Syros Design Revealed: Side Profile and Alloy Wheels
The side profile reveals that the SUV will sport an upright stance with clean lines and flush-type door handles. The ORVMs are mounted on the door rather than the A-pillar. The side body cladding is prominent and heavy. The teaser also reveals the 17-inch alloy wheels on the Kia Syros.
Kia Syros Design Revealed: What Else?
The new Kia Syros will get panoramic sunroof on the top-spec trims and we can also spot roof rails in the teaser. The rear profile will have vertically stacked sleek tail lamps, positioned on the sides of the rear windshield. A beefy bumper at the back will also be a part of the package.
Kia Syros Powertrain and Expected Pricing
The Syros will be powered by the familiar 1.0-litre tGDi petrol and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engines. The turbo petrol unit will get a manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox while the turbo diesel will rely on a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Being offered with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, the Syros will command a good premium over the Sonet and we expect the prices to start from Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
