Skoda saw a big jump in both YOY and MOM sales last month; Kylaq became the major contributor.
It seems like Skoda Auto India is on a roll. It is heading past MG Motor India and taking the 8th spot in the domestic sales tally, falling just short of Honda by around 30 units. Yes, that is how close the Czech carmaker is to becoming one of the top players amongst the small-volume brands in India.

Skoda Sales February 2025: A Rundown on the Numbers

While the Kylaq’s sales are the highlight with 3,636 units in its second month, the Kushaq and Slavia took a major hit in both YOY and MOM sales chart. Kushaq saw a dip of 25%, while Slavia took a 40% hit in the MOM sales.

Skoda Sales February 2025: The Visible Cannibalisation
From the falling numbers of Kushaq and Slavia, it seems like a case of cannibalization. The buyers of the 1.0 litre engine could be steering towards the Kylaq, in interest of a lower price tag. However, those on the lookout for better cabin space and road presence will still prefer the bigger siblings.
Skoda Sales February 2025: What’s Next?
The Kylaq will likely continue with its strong numbers, thanks to the initial booking pileup. Once the order backlog is cleared, which can be expected by mid-2025, it will be interesting to see whether the Kylaq is able to sustain its sales momentum or not.
